DIESEL and TEEKA
The Story of Diesel
On the evening of Thursday January 2nd 2014, Boxer Rescue Ontario received a call for help for this poor 7 year old boxer Diesel and his fur sister Teeka.
BRO had less then 24 hours to find this old fellow a special foster home that could care for his wound and help with his severe malnourishment or he was going to a shelter.
On Boxing Day (December 26th 2013), Diesel woke with a front leg swollen like a baseball bat right into his shoulder (see pictures) causing him a lot of pain.
He was operated on December 27th 2013, but unfortunately his sutures ripped out again on January 2nd at which time BRO was contacted.
Diesel also suffers from colitis and is malnourished weighing at least 20 lbs under the weight he should be.
We cannot get into the particulars, but in the last three weeks Diesel and his fur sister have witnessed domestic abuse, a change in address with police involvement so you can imagine what he has seen.
Diesel required wound care, neutering and a special diet for his colitis to get him ready for our foster and adoption process.
Through a special fund, we raised desperately needed funds to help Diesel on his journey finding a safe, warm, forever home. Thank you to everyone that donated and to all the volunteers that helped Diesel.
The Story of Teeka
Teeka is a very sweet girl that is doing very well in her foster home enjoying her two foster brothers and her toys. She needs to be assessed and vetted so please stay tuned for more information on Teeka and you can look at her album labelled "Teeka" on Facebook.
Diesel and Teeka's Success Story
February 22, 2014
Happy ending to Diesel and Teeka's story for those of you who have been following and what a long haul it was for everyone involved.
We were so lucky to have the Samure's adopt both of these boxer furbabies with Teeka going to their new home February 16th, 2014 and Diesel following the following February 22nd after recovering from his neutering.
