Our Friends, Soul Mates, Family, they were there when we needed them most.

Archie came into my life at a time when I needed him most.  I had just lost my soul mate, Maggie who came to me from BRQ.  I had a broken heart and a need to love again.  Archie claimed it immediately.  He was just about to turn 5 and had the typical boxer exuberance needed to help me.  He was a very happy soul.  His need for attention was matched with my need for the unconditional love that you can't get anywhere else than from a boxer.  He lived for his ball and it was almost an obsession.  Archie had a number of health issues in the (almost) five years that we had together.  Despite his ailments, he always managed to greet me at the top of the stairs with a toy in his mouth and the best kidney bean wiggles around.  At 105lbs, he was a force to be reckoned with.  Boxer Rescue has allowed me to have two soul mates which I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for.  There is something about a boxer rescue dog 's personality that is so special.  They seem to know that while they were picked up at a breeder or pet store and then for some reason or another, left behind by their pack.  When they find a forever home with a new pack they appreciate it in a very special way.  Archie has left a huge hole in my heart.  I know he is at peace and no longer feeling any pain.  He and Maggie are running free to play on the other side of the bridge, waiting to greet me with wagging nubbins someday when we meet again.
