Our Friends, Soul Mates, Family, they were there when we needed them most.

By Francesca Colussi:

On Monday night, I had the awful task of helping my Boxer/Ridgeback baby girl Cairo cross over. Her health had been degrading slowly for quite sometime. Even though I knew this was slowly approaching, it broke me to have to do this. I adopted Cairo from THS when she was just four months old, and I was 29.

She was my steady companion for all these years, outliving four other dogs, including my BRO Boxer boy Rufus, whom I had the awful task of crossing over just 10 short months ago at the approximate age of 15. Cairo accompanied me on 15 years of military postings and road trips across our great country and beyond.

I miss my Cairo that has been my one true rock for 15 years, and my soul mate for practically my entire (real) adult life...

To all th readers of this post, please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts.

RIP sweet Cairo, now you can run free with your brother Rufus...I will always love you both dearly...
