It is with great sadness that we say good bye to our four legged friend Jackson. He came into our care June 3, 2011. He was a loving boy with us, his immediate family, but struggled to overcome his fear aggression toward strangers. He worked very hard at his training and improved his behaviour over our first summer together. Unfortunately, as the summer came to an end we noticed a small growth on his back leg. The tumor grew rapidly and we worked to obtain the best care for him including some alternative treatments when conventional treatments were no longer available. These treatments helped Jackson live for almost two happy years in our care. He had ups and downs along the way but he continued to play with toys and his brother Boxers until the end of his time. Quite suddenly he took a turn for the worst and was not able to recover this time.
Jackson will be missed by his family and friends (especially the cottage neighbour he took to kissing over the fence).
We are thankful for the help from Dr. Ed Gowan, Dr. Sharon Kopinak, and Professional Dog Trainer John Menzies for their love, support and outstanding care of Jackson. Jackson pushed me to reconsider my personal boundaries regarding pet care and companionship and I have grown personally as a result of Jackson being in my family. I will be forever grateful for his trust and his teachings.
Good bye my friend….may you cross peacefully….forever missed by the Cooke-Brown Family
